karas (final impression)

This show was just to epic and beautiful but was way to confusing to get what was going on. The best thing about Karas was the fight scene which were over the top and amazing I mean fights would go from sword fights to a dog fights just like that which left me going wow. The art style was really well done aswell blending 2D and 3D together making for amazing and beautiful scene’s which again impressed me. Now we get to something I didn’t like which was the story nothing really gets well explained that well and the whole story just get to confusing to follow what is going on but to be honest I just stopped caring about what was going. There was one thing I did like about the story which is how it followed 3 different people but this was also one of the reasons it got confusing. The other thing about this anime is that it is an ova series of 6 episodes and it was only made to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Tatsunoko Production.

I would heavily recommend this to anyone who just wants to watch something were they don’t need to care about the story and just wants to enjoy some amazing fights scene’s or if you have 3 hours you want to kill. This is probably now one of my favourite ova series that I have watched I am going to give this show a 9 which it does deserve for what it is.

Yosuga no Sora (final impression)

I should start by saying that I have mixed feelings about this show there are one or two thing that I liked but a lot that I didn’t. What I didn’t like was the lack of character development which leaded to me not being able to get behind the characters and feel for them which then leaded to some of the main parts not having a big effect on me even though I liked the idea of them. I didn’t like the lack of a good romance story it just has the girl and the protagonist falling in love with out giving you a good explanation for it. One of the things that I did like is how the show had the protagonist go down one of the girls route and then the story would go back to a certain point in the show and then it would go down a different one but this was one of the reason it was hard to get behind a character. I also liked the last route he went down which was his sisters and I think that what happened was interesting and had some good ideas.

I think if they made this just following his sisters route and added character development with a good romance story were it should them falling in love and not just have them randomly confess to each other this show could have been really good, but this show is a visual novel adaptation and I havent played it and don’t know if I will so I don’t know well it followed the visual novel. I am going to give this anime a 5 which is a shame because I think this show really had some potential.

Nakaimo-my Sister is among them (final impression)

Today im going to talk about Nakaimo-my Sister is among them which is a show that i have just finished watching and it wasnt what I expected.

When I went into this show I thought it was just going to a generic harem anime where one of the girl was his sister which it kinda was but it had like a mystery type feel behind it because he didn’t know which one of the girls in his harem was his little sister. I found this the best point of the anime because you don’t know which one is his sister as well and each time you think you have figured out who it is something else will come up it just keeps you guessing. That’s really the only thing that makes this show stand out. The rest is just what you will find with any other harem which isn’t a bad thing unless you looking for something new. As for the Characters again they just are just again generic but you do get some good character development.

I will say that this show is ok and that’s about it I would say that if you like harem’s and have some free time to go and watch it. I don’t think this show will get a second season and as for me I wouldn’t mind a second season but it’s not something I want badly. this show gets a 6 from me.

RWBY – Why so much hate?

Hey guys, been watching some RWBY recently. For anyone that doesn’t know what the series is it’s a short web series by Rooster teeth which is directed by Monty Oum. The story at the minute basically boiled down to people called Huntresses beat monsters using dust (Which is Totally not magic!) and there girls Ruby,Yang, Blake and Weiss go to this school to study to become a huntresses. Yeah and that’s it at the minute.

the series has actually become very controversial on the internet with many hater’s and many lovers of the series (Me included.). This hate I feel is that because it is inspired by the anime and the character designs show this. This means many people come into the series with the mindset that this will be as brilliant anime series and it’s not, IT’S A WEB SERIES! So I feel it is wrong to compare this series to some of the large-scale productions like Attack on titan etc.

Yeah I understand that the story is relatively short and there is not much to work on in terms of story so it is acceptable to not be enjoying it yet and the characters as they feel like they have more american characteristic s than Japanese but I feel slightly annoyed by people going on about run time, animation and voice acting as AGAIN IT’S A WEB SERIES!

Okay so because it’s a web series and they have a relatively low-budget and a tight schedule so they have a relatively short run time and the animation is done with Poser pro 2014 and although some people may hate the 3D animation but I feel it gives it its unique appearance. I can understand why people hate the voice acting as they have used members of RoosterTeeth to do character voices and they can be pretty bad but it has got better since episode 1 But they did use Jen Taylor (Cortana) for a voice over so they have at least one professional.

Soo I have to give anyone my idea for the mindset for the series if you haven’t watched it yet. So when ever you see something you don’t like put it in the sentence : “I don’t like (Insert problem here,) Because it’s a web series.” If the problem slots into the sentence your probably over analyzing it. But my other advice is just don’t deconstruct or over analyzing it  and sit back and enjoy the over the top fight sequences with over the top weapons (Sniper-Scythe ❤ ).

Anyway for those who haven’t seen it you can actually now watch RWBY on Crunchyroll, RoosterTeeth and YouTube. so thanks for reading my slightly bias opinion and I hope you enjoy the series. Leave a like and follow us for more posts and as always I’ll see you next post.

See ya!

And I will leave you with this video:

Gun Gale Online – Phantom Bullet (Sword Art Online) First impressions

Last year A-1 Pictures made an anime adaptation for the light novel series “Sword Art Online” wrote by Reki Kawahara, directed by Tomohiko Ito and music by (the goddess) Yuki kajura. The series showed lot’s of promise but was let down early on by the story, the filler and the amount of diversity in genre meaning it didn’t focus on romance or the action. despite these problems I still saw promise in the series as a whole and saw through the fandom for the series which lead me to read the light novels for the series as it was the source material and from forums I heard the light novel were “superior” so I gave them a go.

The story of the phantom bullet arc takes place in the world of Gun Gale Online where the game is mainly focused on guns where the previous series focused mainly on a fantasy setting. The main story line of the arc is that a player known as death gun who is evidently causing the death of high-ranking players, so it’s up to kirito (as per usual) to save the day with his new companion Sinon (Asada Shino) whilst swooning his lover Asuna Yuki.

So far the plot of this arc doesn’t seem to special it seems to follow the same concept as the last few arcs but the thing that’s kept me interested was the new character they introduced called Sinon, who I found very intriguing as in the game she is an ice queen who brutally kills all who stand in her way but in the real world she is a shy girl who can’t stand up for herself, is bullied constantly and cannot even look at a gun because of her dark past shrouded in mystery.

the other thing that was interesting was the entire change in setting as instead of a fantasy setting they use a much more modern setting which is a much-needed change of pace and it will be very interesting to see how Kirito will adapt to the new world, game mechanics and weapons which will be a completely new experience for him to fight against long ranged weapons.

After reading the first few chapters of this volume I am very hooked on the new arc so I highly recommend you check out the light novel series if you’re a fan of light novels or SAO as it is very good, probably better than the anime but that’s up to debate if you don’t like text. So I will continue to read this and keep you up to date on it as I read. anyway thanks for reading its much appreciated. like us, follow us and like us on the Facebook’s ect, and I will be putting up an attack on titan episode reaction tommorow as it will be big and I hope you check it out and make sure you guys check out the Podtaku livestream with the link in my previous post. so thanks again for reading  and I will see you next post! and now I will continue to do nothing as per usual… sayonara!

Free! – Iwatobi Swim Club (First impression)

Hey guys, so as the summer season is beginning to come to an end i have made some effort to watch a new series coming out. For anyone out there that doesn’t know what this is, Kyoto animation decided to make a 32 second video to show off how well they could animate water and that video went viral and they decided to make this anime spawning the show we see today.

The anime revolves around a group of high school boys who inevitably form a swimming team. the first four boys ( Haruka, Makoto, Nagisa, and Rin) were together in a swimming club when they were in elementary school and after the participated in a tournament they part ways. years later when they enter high school, they reunite when Rin challenges Haruka to a race which Rin wins. not wanting to be defeated by Rin so easily, Haruka Gather Makoto and Nagisa and then inevitably formed the  Iwatobi high school swimming club.

Okay, with the formal bit out the way i can safely say this anime was obviously made for the female anime fan so as the male observer the series felt very alien to me and i didn’t know what to expect. The only other series that i have seen where the fan service was tailored for the female otaku was “Ouran high school host club.” which was strangely enough not recommended to me by a girl but by my gay friend although i feel the concept still applies. when I did watch OHSHC i actually enjoyed watching it as the concept of the series was foreign to me so i was intrigued to find out what it was about. another thing i liked about it was that the humor was oriented to both genders and what fan service there was relatively toned down so i could enjoy it without hoping somebody walks in the door and thinks i swing the other way. with that aside I did hope “Free!” would also take into account the male audience.

I have so far watch the first three episodes of free as they have aired and have found the series relatively enjoyable despite it mainly tailoring to a female audience. The first merit i have to give this series is actually in its story although at the minute the story does have sort of feel weak i like the effort that has been put in so far to stick to a story line rather than just having some stupid beach scene or other filler and how they have used some character development to build on the main characters.

Another good point of the series is that it has in my opinion a very strong main character and arch rival which is actually one of the main reasons i kept watching as the show has gripped me and i want to know so much more about the characters rivalry and do hope they continue to develop on it.

The last point of interest for the series it the animation and art for the series kyoto animation did a very good job with the animation for the series as everything looks smooth and the swimming looks so well animated that it shows why Kyoto Ani were hyping up their ability to animate water. the character designs look great although i felt one or two characters felt bland and unoriginal or Kyoto Animation spent more time drawing their abs than their face.

Although this is all well and good we have to take into account what i didn’t like about the series. One of the first problems i had with the series was the fan service. at first in episode one this wasn’t as evident but in the next two episodes it was so painfully blunt as in they would flex their muscles in the screen or they would take of their shirt like a porn star to reveal the good stuff that the fan girls wanted to see! Yes, i do understand this series is for a female audience but they could have not rubbed their male physique in my face so much the smell may still linger because there may be the odd chance another male may actually want to watch it and will be put off by this. If you are a girl on the other hand this may be exactly what you want because it’s not like you get as much fan service as the male audience does so this is you lucky day but i will warn you some of it may be pretty unusual even for a girls standards like seeing Haruka in only an apron and his swim shorts which looked stupid from where i was sitting but this may be for you.

the other problem i had with the series was mainly with the side characters as most of the guys did feel girly and were just there to appeal to the female audience as their personality’s were just tropes that i feel have been used over and over again but the female audience would like them and latch onto them easily. A character that i specifically did not like as she annoyed the hell out of me was Gō Matsuoka. The reason was her character liked to specifically point out that this is a show with male fan service by Fan Girling over a character as he takes of his shirt or rubs his triceps which annoyed me while watching the show but retrospect i found her quite funny as i imagine her as the fan base for this show which may or may not be true. (No offence :D) Also she sparkles more than Alex Louis Armstrong during fan service scenes.

Other points that i would like to make is that the OST is very good there was one track on episode one that caught my eye (Ear) which was played before Rin and Haruka raced which actually got me pretty pumped sadly I don’t know what it’s called as the OST has not been released yet. The Op “Rage on” was brilliant the song was great and the animation was brilliant. The voice over was good but so far no voice actor has really stood out for me yet.

My final verdict for the series is that so far the series has been quite good in my eyes and Kyoto animation has done a very good job with this series as per usual but i will probably not continue to watch this series until it has finished airing because although it has been fun to watch i don’t feel it is going to get much better in my eyes and i don’t feel i am resolved enough to watch this series on a weekly basis. I would highly recommend this series to the female anime fan as this is probably one of the greatest series that has been made specifically for the female Otaku so i suggest highly they should check it out. For any guys who are still interested i suggest you give it a go because i feel if you don’t test the water you won’t know if it was for you and if you don’t you may need to bleach you brain to get those after images out of your mind.

And this is the end of my first impression if you liked it leave a like or comment on how i can improve my work and come back at a later date for more posts. i hope you enjoy this series if you watch it, goodbye and thanks for stopping by.
